We did it!

The 2nd ANNUAL RUNNING
of the TURTLE TEN went off without a hitch.  Perfect weather (albeit slightly cool) and the course was a great running (or walking) workout.

Mark your calendar for Labor Day Weekend 2012!

The race was run on our certified 10 mile course starting from the Hickory Creek Junction Picnic Pavilion, located on the north side of Route 30, about one mile west of Wolf Road in Mokena.

Frequently Asked Questions:

  1. Where does 'Turtle Ten' come from?
Beside the fact that our club logo is a turtle in running shoes and this is a Ten Mile Race, the Turtle Ten doesn't take itself too seriously--any pace is more than welcome, from ReallyFastRunners to W-a-l-k-e-r-s. While we will have a timing clock and mile markers on the course, we will not have timing chips or official finishing times. This keeps our costs VERY low (see race registration fees above). (Also note: the course will be open to the public during our race!)
  2. I run the race for the 'bling'-do you have Anything for me?
Of course! We like to get free stuff too!! While we won't have finisher medals (see answer #1), you will receive Your Choice of any one of our technical running shirts or other PFRPC apparel items (supplies & sizes are limited so-first come, first choice).
  3. Ah, I get it: sort of an 'un-run'!
Exactly! This is a great 'race' with a really fun atmosphere, so Plan to Join Us!

Our thanks to all the volunteers who made the Turtle Ten the spectacularly fun event it was!
