The PFRPC 2012 MIDWINTER CRUISE 5K is History!
On Sunday, January 15, 2012 in Park Forest, IL, 189 intrepid runners braved cold, snowy and windy conditions to cross the finish line to receive their finisher's trophy and enjoy the PFRPC's traditional pancake breakfast. hmmm...time to change our photo for the winter season! Established in 1978, the Park Forest Running and Pancake Club (PFRPC) is based in the South Suburbs of Chicago. While the club originated in the far south community of Park Forest, today our members come from more than 25 different communities throughout metropolitan Chicago, as well as Northwest Indiana.
Far from a fair-weather organization, the PFRPC is active all year long -- rain or shine, snow or sleet, heat or humidity -- sponsoring races, weekend recreational runs, speed workouts, training runs, Moon Runs, road trips and just plain social get-togethers. It doesn't matter whether you're a walker, 12-minute miler or a world class runner (we have them all in the club), all are welcomed by the PFRPC.
Club Announcements
Save the date for the Club's annual Holiday Party scheduled for Saturday, January 21, 2012 when we'll "Chase the Blues Away" at Gatto's at 8005 West 183rd Street, Tinley Park, beginning at 6:30pm. Cost is just $10 per person and includes dinner, soft drinks and dessert. Payment is due at the door, but we do request your reservation. The MidWinter Cruise 5k sets sail on Sunday, January 15th! While online registration is closed, race day registration is available for 425. Get the details here.

Saturday runs in January and February, 2012 are on the Plank Trail from the parking lot on White Street in downtown Frankfort beginning at 8AM.

Mission Statement
The Park Forest Running and Pancake Club welcomes and actively includes runners and walkers of all speeds and levels. The PFRPC is dedicated to fitness through running, fun,and friendship.
